Injectable Process and Recovery
Dermal fillers are injected in-office by Dr. Boll. These injections take under an hour and are ideal for patients on a lunch break or on the way home from work. There is no downtime associated with treatment; patients can return to work and their normal activities immediately following the injections, but all strenuous activity should be avoided for 24 hours. Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling around the injection site that can be covered with makeup. Results from your dermal filler or injectable treatment will appear within a few days.Scars
Dermal fillers are administered through a non-surgical injectable treatment; therefore, there will be no post-treatment scarring. You may experience some temporary bruising, redness, and tenderness, but these will not result in any scars.Cost
Injectable treatments are measured by units of the product, and the price of your treatment will depend on the number of units required. You will be given an accurate price estimate during your consultation that will factor in the type of filler, units used, and any combination of fillers or additional cosmetic treatments.Pain
Since injectable dermal fillers are non-invasive, there is no need for general anesthesia or sedation. A topical numbing cream is applied to improve patient comfort, and many patients experience no pain during this procedure. Ice packs and over-the-counter pain medication will relieve any post-treatment discomfort and reduce any bruising and swelling."Feel very, very fortunate to have found Dr. Boll!
Am I a candidate for injectable dermal fillers?
Candidates for dermal fillers are healthy individuals looking to reduce the signs of aging without having to undergo invasive surgery. Since there are so many dermal fillers available, patients can find what they are looking for to address their unique concerns. Ideal candidates for dermal fillers generally have good skin elasticity but are concerned about visible lines, wrinkles, and volume loss.
Can these injectable fillers be an alternative to surgery?
Dermal fillers are a great way to reduce or eliminate the appearance of wrinkles or add volume to hollowed regions of the face. These treatments effectively target the signs of facial aging; however, as they do not address sagging skin, fillers are not always an ideal alternative to surgery. Patients who suffer from loose or lax skin will likely be directed toward a surgical procedure to reach their desired results.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that plays an essential role in the production of collagen. Hyaluronic acid fillers are made from a derivative of this substance and work in much of the same way. These injectables fill in wrinkles and plump up hollow areas while stimulating the production of collagen. Hyaluronic acid fillers come with little risk of allergic reaction or irritation. While these fillers can be used in multiple areas, they work best when treating the lower two-thirds of the face.
How often can these injections be repeated?
While the longevity of dermal fillers varies depending on the type of filler used, they typically last between six months and two years. Dermal fillers can be repeated as often as necessary to maintain results. Occasionally, their longevity will increase after a series of injections.
