Many women note that after childbirth or due to activity or a genetic predisposition, the labia minora (inner vaginal folds) become stretched out and pendulous. When this occurs it can lead to pain and discomfort during activities such as bike riding, horseback riding, sex, or even when wearing tight fitting clothes. Surgical reduction of the labia minora can be performed in order to improve the appearance of the area and reduce the discomfort. This surgery can be performed in the office or in a surgery center depending on a person’s comfort level.
Some people notice that as they get older the labia majora (outer vaginal folds) decrease in size and become wrinkled. In this situation, fat or fillers can be injected to provide a more youthful appearance.
